Welcome to our Webpage.

This webpage belongs to the Dutch charitable foundation ‘Stichting Karmapa in Nederland’ (SKN). We are associated with, but independent of, Karma Deleg Chö Phel Ling (KDCPL).

The foundation SKN aims to uphold and spread the Buddhist teachings in general, and in particular those of the Tibetan Buddhist Karma-Kagyu transmission, in the Netherlands. This webpage provides details of our activities and seeks to facilitate interaction with fellow Buddhist practitioners and those persons interested in the Buddhist teachings.

The head of the Karma-Kagyu transmission is the Karmapa. The current reincarnation of the Karmapa is His Holiness The 17^th Gyalwang Karmapa, see link for a biography of His Holiness on the European website of the Karmapa Foundation.

We are a group of Dutch enthusiastic Buddhists, being students of the Karma Kagyu Teachings. We see ourselves as a focal point of the Karma-Kagyu in the Netherlands and aim to facilitate visits of His Holiness to our country.

We all come from different background, parts of the Netherlands and are in different professions. The strong bond that connects us is not only our faith in the Dharma, but the fact that we are privileged to be able to work together to facilitate a visit of His Holiness and ensure that it is a big success.

Our group consists of Wim van Kessel (chairman), MSc Kawla Shehadeh (secretary), Nicoline Geyer (treasurer) and Drs. Pim Willems (member of the board).

Stichting Karmapa in Nederland (SKN) was founded in 2009 and is registered at the Chambers of Commerce in Leeuwarden, Registration Number 01168895, RSIN number 8216.49.97.

SKN is a Dutch charitable foundation (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling – ANBI).
